Date you entered the UK and the 5 years basis

Post by Beth80 » Wed Aug 23, 2017 6:07 pm

Hello,

I'm filling the form to get permanent residency and I'm a bit confused!

On Section 3 page 23 I ticked the box that says "I’ve lived in the UK for a continuous period of five years as an EEA national qualified person, the family member or extended family member of a qualified person, or a combination of these."

On Section 5 page 28 I wrote the actual date when I entered the uk, which was back in 2003.

For all the rest of the form they ask to enter details that cover the period since I entered the UK, not just the last 5 years... What I've done was to write the actual date since I entered the UK, so 2003 and only provide information for last 5 years, is this correct?

The trickiest bit was all the information about self-employment where I had to write when I became a sole trader, which was in 2009... for that section do I only need to provide information since 2012 (5 years ago) or give the information from 2009?

You have to provide information of 5 consecutive years, not necessarily the last 5 years. But if your qualifing period ends more than 2 years ago you have to provide evidence that you didn't leave the UK for more than 2 years after the qualifing period.
