Hello, firstly I apologise as no doubt these questions have been asked many times.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to extend Spouse visa (it is expiring in a couple of months) for my son and myself. We live with my spouse who is a British citizen (my son and I are Australian).
Also, approximately how long does it take to process the applications for extension?
Thanks so much!
Form FLR(M) for you both. In addition to the £933 visa fee (each) you each will have to pay the £500 NHS surcharge. Australian nationals are no longer exempt from the surcharge.
A postal application can take up to 3 months to process, but your legal status in the UK will remain valid while your applications are being decided. If you apply in person through a PSC the applications will generally be decided on the same day, paying the premium fee of £590 each in addition to the standard visa fee. Bear this in mind if you have any intention of travelling outside of the UK during the following months.
You will have to meet the same financial conditions as in your previous application.
