Post by Andrewcalm » Tue Aug 29, 2017 5:21 pm

Hello, I hold a Britis passport, I was born in the uk.
My mother is from Ireland, so I am intitled to a irish passport.I would like to no if having a irish passport would help in me working in a foreign country (england) then would my wife be eligible to apply for eea family permit. I am in currently in england would I have to exit with my irish passport and be accepted for work in the uk for this to be in effect.

The only way to use your Irish nationality (I suspect you are already an Irish citizen) thus is to renounce your British nationality.

A dual British/EEA citizen is solely British for the purpose of the EEA regulations and hence is unable to sponsor family members under the EU route.

As Richard W has advised, you can renounce your British citizenship to sponsor your wife under the EEA Regulations.
