Passport Expires While Application Is In Progress

Hi all,

I applied for T1E extension Feb 2017 and still waiting a decision. The problem here is that my dependants passports have now expired.

I am just thinking about the worse case scenario should we be refused can a fresh application be made with expired passports? I doubt much.

Can a case be made to allow us renew passports before a fresh application can be submitted; bearing in mind it takes about 6 weeks to get new passports sorted out.

Should I contact HO about my situation.

Please I need your suggestions.

I called HO and they said if it comes to point where the visa is refused and I have to re-apply. That I should apply with the expired passport but make sure I explain in the cover letter why I have submitted an out of date passport.

I also think you can submit your passports for renewal and submit your application without the passport/with expired passports - giving the reason why you can't provide a current passport and providing your passport renewal receipt. Normally, your country would not need the old passport until the new one is needed.

But hopefully this will not be needed at all.
