Please use the following URL to check your visa status. It might say invalid Ref no but when the decision is made it will show the correct status. And I noticed it gives you updated results every Sunday. You come to this URL if you select applied in UK only. Even though the application is made out of UK, it will show the status for any application which is processing. Good Luck.

In general, there is a delay in all visa processing but I would say within 3 months you will get some feedback. I didn't contact them during the process and no contacts were made by HO to me. If the case is straightforward they will process it without any delays.

You will get an SMS and Email when the decision is made. It will take roughly a week from the decision day and collection day.
