No Notification of received documents

Post by Dashel84 » Sun Sep 03, 2017 3:05 pm

Hi, I'm a uk citizen and my american partner has made a married visa application. We did the online form, attended the biometrics and then mailed our documents to sheffield (was this the right place?) through VFS global.

Its been six weeks and we havnt recieved anything from sheffield to say they recieved our documents. Is this unusual? I checked the tracking number through UPS and the documents DID arrive their, but no email, no word, nothing. Paranoid now that I sent them to the wrong place or something.

Anyone with similar experience? Should we be trying to get in touch with them to see whats what? I understand they will email us when a decision is made (have checked spam folders already) - but is that the only commincation? very surprised we wouldnt get an update on documents arriving.

It's not unusual for them to not acknowledge receipt of documents. We sent our documents on 15th August and received the original set back on 18th August with a generic cover letter but there has been members who got their documents after getting the decision.

You can try to chase UKVI through paid email or phone call to their call centre but even that don't necessarily work for everybody.

Alternatively you can also involve your MP to get them chase your application and in some cases they are helpful in getting a update from UKVI
Biometrics Karachi 04/08/17
Decision received 11/10 (Visa refused on subsisting relationship)
Acknowledgment 18/12/17
Deadline 02/04/18
Decision withdrawn 26/02/18
Decision overturned 29/03/18
PP submitted 3/4/18
Visa granted 9/4/18
