VFS asked us to post original documents ourselves! urgent please...

Hi All,

My wife went to submit my child's visa documents at Hyderabad India today and I was told that VFS took the details of the application but asked my wife to courier/post the original documents by herself to UKVI in an envelope given by them! I am not sure if this is done for all applications these days as previously they posted the documents by themselves. Anybody here have similar experience?

I am applying for my child's visa as a dependant of a settled person. My wife already has dependant of settled person visa and I am applying for my child visa alone.

Also, they mentioned if we pay Rs. 50,000 the application will be processed in 15 days (premium service) otherwise it will take 45 days. I have never heard of premium service from outside UK. Is it something worth to pay as I am not sure how much are the lead times for applications made outside UK.

Could somebody advise me on this urgently?

I am not very sure about VFS asking your wife to post the documents herself. They usually collect it themselves, but if they have given a specific envelope - may be its a new policy?

Premium services are available outside the UK as well. Have a look at the VFS website.
