With the new rule, do I need the A2 English requirement?

I'm from Brazil and earlier this year (April) I was granted an UK Fiance Visa and now I'm currently in the UK. I got married yesterday and our appointment for my FIRST FLR-M is in Glasgow on the 18th of September. Me and my wife we're a bit confused about the new rule regarding the English Requirement. I currently have the A1, but do I need to upgrade it to the A2 for my first application to the FLR-M or that's only meant for people that are applying for their second one (after the first 2,5 years are finished)? Could someone clarify this for us?

Not required for this application and under the current Rules, A2 level English will be a requirement for your second FLR(M) extension.

Just to clarify, the A1 pass is acceptable for our first FLR-M after our fiance visa. The new rule confused us a little bit lol. Thank you!
