Do you have first hand experience? Or what is the source?
If you contact your MP with HO matters he/she will hopefully contact them to sort out matters.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

Several reports on this in the media recently. This is one of them:

I would be very interested in knowing if the people reported by their MPs were people who approached the MP's office regarding immigration issues. If so, I would consider it a gross breach of trust.

If, on the other hand, a constituent came to the MP's office about a non-immigration issue and his/her immigration status came to the attention of the MP's office subsequently, I am in two minds as to its ethics. One the one hand, the MP's office should, like any other citizen, report illegal activity (such as being in the country illegally). On the other, their role is oriented towards assisting constituents (though there is another argument as to whether somebody in the country illegally can be a constituent to start with) and that requires them to have the faith and trust of their constituents.

In any case, this may not be an issue relevant to just EEA citizens, but to General UK Immigration. Would the mods consider moving this thread to the General UK Immigration queue, for a wider audience to be reached?
