national insurance number question

Post by deepakkalra5 » Mon Sep 11, 2017 11:09 am

The Tier 2 application form has a question on National insurance number. As a Tier 4 student some 13/14 years ago, I was employed by the University and issued a NIN. Since then I completely forgot about it, moved to the US and didnt even remember I was issued this number. Now my new UK employer sent me information on this number and looking back in old P60 payslips I was able to find this number.

Now my issue is that I applied for a UK visit visa recently and that form also has a question on whether I have ever been issued a NIN to which I replied no because frankly I did not remember it as it has been so long and I was not a resident of UK in between.

Will the discrepancy in the two applications affect my current Tier 2 application? Any advice is appreciated.

Regards

You should have said yes in both applications.

Let see what others say! It might have an effect.

I applied for visit and work visas and I always mentioned my NIN.

Thanks. is there a way around this now? For instance, explaining the reason on a separate page?
