Business office at Different Residential address

I have query about my office address

I got 2 rooms in a residential house for my office which are close to city center.

I put a banner for my company however i did not inform to council so for ,even i did not apply for Business rate council tax.


1)Is it mandatory to inform council that we are running business from a residential place?
2)Is it also mandatory to apply for Business rate ?

Nothing to do with immigration. You need to check with the conditions of your lease or mortgage or local bodies as relevant
