I am a UK citizen and hold a full british passport. I hold a well paid job and own my own house. The person I am sponsoring is my daughter's boyfriend, whom I have met.
I was planning on sending:
An invitation letter saying that I will meet all his expenses and have sufficient accommodation
A letter from my employers dated September confirming permenant role and salary
6 months pay slips (most recent is July)
Bank statements (most recent is slightly more than 28days)
Mortgage statement to prove house ownership
Copy of my flight details for my completed visit (not sure about this?)
A copy of my passport
My questions are:
Does the copy passport need to be certified by either a solicitor or an actuary? It doesn't say so anywhere but I've seen suggestions that it may need to be.
Is it critical that the banks statements run to the last 28 days?
My daughters boyfriend has a job and a letter from his employer (an American ngo) showing he will be employed on return but very limited financial resources. Is there anything I can do to ensure that the visa is considered on my resources not his? He has bank statements but his job is fairly recent and paid in cash.
I've read the very helpful posts linked from here on visitor visa but still not 100% clear. Cannot find anything helpful on the uk visa website.
Would be really grateful for any advice. It's our first experience of a Visa application and we are are anxious to get it as right as possible.
