English language assessment

Post by Savetigers » Sat Sep 23, 2017 12:46 pm

Hi there,

I need an information regarding the English language assessment , I am a Pakistani national residing in Dubai , I studied and completed my bachelors in Dubai and got a degree from a recongnised university in England i.e university of bedfordshire, I have completed 4 years honours degree and received a (BA hons) degree from university of bedfordshire in the year 2014,
Now my question is do I need to go through UK NARIC for statement of comparability or do I just need to present my original degree certificate at the time of submission of document for spouse visa at vfs Dubai office,

As you were awarded the degree in the UK your original degree will be accepted.

Thankyou casa for you kind response,

That's where I'm confused, I've a degree from the recognized university of England but it was awarded to me in Dubai and not in England, will I still be eligible for exemption of English language test?

Thanks again.

In which case, you need a NARIC ELA (Red route).

Thankyou casa for your kind replies,
I emailed UK NARIC regarding my issue and this is what they reply:

"The qualification you wish to submit has been issued by a UK awarding body. Here at UK NARIC we are only able to provide comparability information for qualifications obtained overseas. Qualifications issued by British awarding bodies should be presented directly to the Home Office for their consideration "

Furthermore GOV.UK says:

"4. If your degree was taught or researched in English

You can prove your knowledge of English by having a degree that was taught or researched in English.

If you have a degree from a UK university, you only need your original degree certificate.

If your degree isn’t from a UK university, you’ll need your original degree certificate and one of the following:

an original letter or certificate from UK NARIC confirming the equivalent level of your degree, plus an official letter from your university with your name and degree confirming that your degree was taught in English
an original and official certificate from your university confirming the degree was taught or researched in a majority English-speaking country (except Canada),

Here as far as I understood they said if you've a degree from a UK university rather degree studied in UK,
All of this is adding so much to the confusion, I hope anyone can help me out with this matter and any little mistake in the documents is very difficult to be reverted.
