Residence Card Waiting times after EEA Family Permit.

It took me 120 working days to get EEA Family Permit outside UK. I have 6 months of visa so I will need a Residence Card in UK.

How can I justify these 6 months which I was not living with my partner as we are unmarried partner and needs to prove 2 years of marraige?
What are the current waiting times to get the Residence Card? I see 6 months are maximum.

Please enlighten me on this if anyone applied Residence Card recently.
