FLR(M) queries

Hi I have applied for my FLR(M) on 10 August and submitted my biometrics on 19 August.

My online status has been 'awaiting a decision' since 10 August.

Now I have two questions.

1 - Does the processing time start after biometrics are taken?

2 - Does UKVI make contact before posting the documents back or do the documents arrive at home randomly one fine day? Husband and I both work, so I want to make sure we don't miss the delivery.
