Im on tier 2 visa looking to buy a house. Am i allow to buy any properties ?

yes.
you will find that the banks will offer much higher interest rate to you when they see your temporary status.

Yes. You are allowed to buy house. I know friends who are in Tier 2 and have bought houses. But you will be severely restricted only to few ( read as 3-4) banks and building societies for getting a mortgage and as per the previous comment you will have a bit higher rate of interest.
