University delaying the course ending date beyond the date of CAS

Post by nishad.zaman » Fri Sep 29, 2017 8:29 pm

Hi,

A student's CAS letter stated that their course ending date is 10th November 2017 and their visa expires by 10 March 2018. But now the University delaying their last subject's submission date and making it on 15 December 2017, Provisional results on 12 January 2018 and the Original transcript will be given after 16th February 2018.

Question is, can the university delays in this way for the course ending as normally UKBA gives 4 months extra visa relating to the course ending date. What are the student's rights in this matter, please advise.

Kind regards

"The only student right is to start planning on how to extend the visa either by switching to other visa category or apply to start another programme. Good luck to you".

You can ask for a new CAS to extend your leave to 15 April 2018, but even if they agree it would be an expensive and time-consuming exercise. You would need to go to your home country to do it, and get the new visa in time to return to the UK before your course ends on 15 December.

Does the short delay in the end date or the results date really make much difference? How are you thinking it might affect your rights or cause you a problem?
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
