Hello everyone. First of all thank you for such a great informative discussions here. I have been reading and following up a lot of these posts here and I must say they were more helpful than even the HO helpline.. I am Canadian national marrying Hungarian (with PR)in Oct in Toronto. I have been visiting UK a lot in the last 3 yrs as I have other family members here and thats how I met my fiance on the first place. Now I have a small problem. Our marriage certificate wont be issued up to 10 wks after the wedding in Canada and we have already booked our tickets to UK 10 days after the wedding as my fiance has to go back to teaching after the half term holidays. I have spoken to Ontario services which issues the certificate and they have a sort of emergency process but there is no guarantee we will get it before our flight to UK. So I cant even apply for family permit in Toronto. The marriage officiant can only provide us with copies of our application for marriage certificate and copies of her own record that she has to send for our certificate. So I was wondering when I get to Gatwick airport is there any chance they will let me in under EEA family member with these evidences? And more importantly if I ask with these copies if they decide to refuse it can I still enter as a tourist or I shouldnt risk it as it will complicate things later on as well. Reading some of these horror stories here has made me think twice maybe I should come back on visitor visa and wait till my marriage certificate is ready. Thx.
