Benefits in my bank account , please advice

Post by New on forum » Sat Sep 30, 2017 6:45 pm

hi,
I need some advice please.it may sound a stupid question but I want to make sure.
I am an overstayer with an application Flr fp pending.
My partner is British and we claim following benefits ,
1:ctc joint names
2:child benefit in wife's name
3:Disability living allowance wife's name
4:ESA wife's name
5; housing benefits
The problem is all the payments are received in my bank account and all the bills are also from my account even my wife has a bank account.
Can this cause any problem for me ?
Any response appreciated.
Thanks

It shouldn't, with every benefit payment normally the NI number will be included, so if you look at your statement it will have the payment benefit name as well as the NI, that should represent who is in receipt, as long as it is your wife's who is in receipt and it is her NI and I would like to add it is always best to include a covering letter.

Did you give them a covering letter and the benefit letters to prove it is your wife that is in receipt and not you.

Although they will find out anyway.
These are my 'views' and 'opinions'.
If in doubt always seek professional advice, or at least do a search for the relevant information. :P

Thanks for your reply.
Yes there is either name or ni number with payments on the statement.
I declared all benefits appropriately in the app form.
I didnt mention this in the cover letter because payments actually were changed to my bank account after the application.

Again, HO will have access to the relevant department and will enquire about it, I believe as long as YOU are not claiming them under your name and NI you should be fine.
