Tourist visa for wife of EEA citizen - formerly has EEA2

Post by maple_triangle » Tue Oct 03, 2017 4:00 am

Hi there,

I'm an Indian citizen and my husband is an Irish citizen and we both live in the US since July 2016 on J1 and J2 visa. Previous to this we both lived in the UK and I had a EEA2 visa (received in Sept 2014 and valid until Sept 2019).

My husband and I wish to travel to the UK to visit friends for five days this December and I am trying to figure out what visa I should obtain. My understanding is that my EEA2 visa is no longer valid as we have been out of the UK for 14 months.

Do I need a visa for my holiday? If so do I apply for EEA Family Permit or a standard tourist visa for an Indian citizen.

Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

See the replies to Brown Crow's almost identical query. Are you in fact the same poster?
