Tier 2 to EEA FM switch

Post by erevin22 » Tue Oct 03, 2017 9:47 pm

HI,

I am a non EU on a Tier 2 visa. My wife is EU and its been a year since we got married. I want to get away from my current visa which ties me to a single company. Questions:
What are my options and timelines?
Assuming i have to send my passport as part of the application process, how long before i get it back?
Is there an option for paid fast track application?

Thank you

If your EEA spouse applies for QP same time as your application we can both use the European passport return service going to one of the authorized places and they just photocopy your passports and hand you it back.

Thanks dan1988uk! This is exactly what I found today. Here is the step:
1. Get an appointment to nearest post office to get biometric info taken
2. fill up the online form for EEA(QP) and pay the fees
3. Call Emergency Passport Return Service (EPRS)to book an appointment to the nearest centre
4. Go to EPRS centre with original documents and passport, and they will do the rest

Am I stating the correct order?

Thank you
