Spouse Visa - Took a job break

Post by jasonbourne2004 » Thu Oct 05, 2017 4:52 pm

Hi All,

I’m applying for a spouse visa, I’m a british citizen but my wife lives in Iran. She is an Afghan nationality. We got married in August 2017 and I wish to proceed with the visa application in order for her to join me here.

I was in a permanent job between May 2015 to May 2017 earning £30,000 pa. I left the job to get married and to also try a new company for a career change. I’ve recently started a new job this month and I’m on a £31,000 salary.

Would I be able to start working on my wife’s visa application and start the process right now or do I need to have 6 months of continued employment before I can start and submit the visa application. Can the UK Agency take into consideration I have been in a continuous employment for over 2 years and took a break for marriage etc; and now I have another permanent full time contract?

Would appreciate the response, the answer is at the link below but unfortunately my legal understanding isn’t great so I’m a bit lost:

5.3.. Category B:: Less than 6 months with current employer or variable income – person residing in the UK

You will have to meet this requirement by two ways for category B

1) you must have earned £18600 during the last 12 months.
2) you must have gross wages of £18600 at the time of application for salaried person

You'll have to provide :

Last 12 months original pay slips and bank statements.
Employer letter from both jobs
P60 if available
Job contracts from both jobs
Biometrics Karachi 04/08/17
Decision received 11/10 (Visa refused on subsisting relationship)
Acknowledgment 18/12/17
Deadline 02/04/18
Decision withdrawn 26/02/18
Decision overturned 29/03/18
PP submitted 3/4/18
Visa granted 9/4/18

Thanks, appreciate this. Will look further into it.

I assume the home office doesn't accept PDF copies of P60's and payslips. Stupid of me for never keeping proper record of the hard copies.
