Is marriage certificate mandatory for tier 2 dependent visa?

Post by Sony1983 » Sat Oct 07, 2017 5:41 pm

My husband is working in UK. I want go as dependent. Problem is we have registered our marriage. But we r having our names as wife and husband in aadhar card, passport, having police clearance certificate ,bank joint account , marriage card and marriage photos and my kid's birth certificate.
Inspite of having these documents, is marriage certificate is mandatory to prove that we r in committed relationship?

Did you intend to write that the problem is you haven't registered your marriage :?:

Marriage registration is compulsory in few states in India if am correct.
However, They likely accept substantial documents you mentioned above and with court affidavit ( I am not sure how you would get it without the presence/sign of both).
Best way to find out is contact VFS/embassy office from where you are applying.

Contact your local govt body.
if you get authentic govt registration, it would be helpful for future use.
Alternatively, get it by court giving other pieces of evidence.
