Long Stay Visa options for Romania (Criminal Record)

Post by drakedante » Wed Oct 11, 2017 1:14 pm

Hello,

I am a U.S.A citizen looking for assistance with my future move to Romania. I have met my future wife to be and she is a birth citizen of Romania. I am to come to Romania to prove to her father and ask for his permission in marriage to his daughter.

I may have to get a long stay visa until I get his approval so me and my fiance can be together finally.

I have one entry on my U.S.A criminal record. Misdemeanor Class A for assault from 10+ years ago (Arrest 2005 and released with no conviction in 2007 after probation through deferred adjudication). I plead no contest and was put on deferred adjudication in my state. I successfully completed the courts request and I pleaded "No Contest" and was not found guilty by the court. I can have a request put in to limit who can see the charge and it would only be justice departments of the US.

1. Do I have to report this during any visa applications .
2. If I do will this charge prevent me from obtaining a long-stay visa?
3. If 1 and 2 are yes are there any options? IE if me and my fiance get married can I legally stay and obtain a visa without providing my criminal record?

I have looked over everything I possibly can. Called many different lawyers with no real answers. I have sent emails to the immigration consulate with only vague responses in return stating information about "Public morality".

If I apply for a visa and get denied will I even be prevented from visiting the country?

I greatly look forward to hearing from you. I hope your day is great!
