Invalid FLR (FP) After Taking Payment.

Is it possible for the Home Office to declare an FLR (FP) application invalid weeks after taking the payment for the application?

Short History.
My Visa is expiring mid-October and I applied for FLR (FP) Private Life in September. The fee was taken two days after posting the application, but I've still not received any Acknowledgement or BRP Letter.

Did you pay your ISH and done your Biometric?

I have not yet received a biometric letter, neither have I received an awknowledgeme letyer for my application. Also I have not yet paid the IHS surcharge because I wasn't sure of the exact amount to pay. So I'm waiting for the letter from the Home Office asking me to pay the health surcharge and specifying the amount.

Meant did you pay your IHS on top of your application fee?Normally is R500 as I gather to some people they send them a letter to pay while sometimes they can declare your application as invalid you might be lucky just wait and see.

Just don't worry yourself when the send your acknowledgement letter they might include the letter for you to pay your IHS.

Thanks for the reply. It was my solicitor that actually suggested that I leave the IHS fee till the Home Office request for it, so I was working based on his advice. Hopefully he was talking from experience with his other clients.

That's ok,good as long as you've got a solicitor will be fine then. They all different mine did it before then enter the ref.on application.Lots also who did your way and when they send your acknowledgement letter they include it so just relax then.

I'm hopeful because the full application fee was taken from my bank account. That's why I was asking if anyone's application has been declared invalid after fees have been deducted.

Yes they can say it's invalid for reasons such as not paying IHS or lacking ID evidence, they will write to you and give you 10 days to respond. They cannot simply reject without requesting documentation from you so don't you worry.

Thanks Bathanza. But would this be enough reason to delay the acknowledgement letter? In other words would they send the notice for the IHS payment first and then wait for my payment before they send the acknowledgement letter?

No, just very busy people at the HO

Expect the letter 4-6 weeks aftet submitting the application and nothing to worry about. If there is a delay it'll be part of the application and they will duly let you know. Also expect a 9 or 10 month wait for a decision. I see yours is an extension so you shouldn't have a problem

Yes Casa, I know of that. As long as me and my spouse can continue working (with the receipt of the Acknowledgement letter) I'm ready to wait. I've already been here long enough, so a few more months/years won't be a problem.

FLR(FP) applications generally take a considerable length of time for a decision to be made, even more so for the Private Life route.

Indeed - 1 year and 2 months counting.. but hopefully if it's a vary of the visa which is valid as a switch.. OP *should* be ok.

Quick update.
Just received my Acknowledgement and Biometric Letter today, dated 16th October. Now I can relax a bit.
