moving to the UK...questions!

Post by Ewok » Sat Mar 01, 2008 6:51 am

hello there

I live in the UK

i have been trying to figure out arranging my girlfriend to move here

a few things concern me

1. Accommodation......my rents runs out here in July......and i'd be nervous securing a place which i'd need her help to pay (not using public funds....but savings)... ...if her application is rejected not only would i be living in an annoyingly large place but i'd struggle too.

however it says on the site you need a letter from the landlord
for your application to be accepted

so i'm assuming unless I figure this out and get the landlords word....they might not accept the application

is there a way around this?

do you know if landlords are often reluctant to let you take the property if one of the occupants is not there in person to sign the contract?

i'm kinda nervous landlords wont feel comfortable at all doing this and that being a problem in itself

2.the whole funding side of it seems ambiguous

how much money exactly are we talking?

I would have enough from my student loan to support us
that should be ok right?

thanks a lot
