FLR (M) extension for another 2.5 years

Post by e2saleh » Sun Oct 15, 2017 11:38 am

Hi,

My wife had her first FLR (M) application successful 2.5 years ago on the 5 years partner route where she was granted a visa valid until the 2nd of Dec 2017. Now it is time to complete another application for the next 2.5 years. I've been looking around, my understanding is the application will be the same one as before but obviously the latest one so there is no change in category or application type for the new 2.5 years extension, please correct me if this is wrong.

Second thing is the language test, in the latest application FLR (M) apparently if this is the second application on the 5 years route there is no need to provide a language test certificate, the application says a person is required a language certificate if "making their first application for leave on the 5 year Partner route", so in our case this is not the first, hence we don't need language approval as the first certificate we provided 2.5 years ago should be fine.
My only concern is the new list of approved certificates does not include the exact level that my wife had, which is Trinity College London Grade 5, Entry level 3 CEFR Level B1.1 - issue date 31 March 2015. Does that mean we need another language test or as this is another 2.5 years we don't have to provide any language test documents?

Thanks,
