My wife received spouse visa, few questions?

Post by bhatti_pk » Sun Oct 15, 2017 12:41 pm

Dear Members,

First of all with the help of members of this forum, finally i have received visa of my wife. I am thankful to this forum specially @CR001

Now few questions ::

01) I am on ILR at the moment, my wife got settlement dependent visa (33 months) on my ILR status, I have applied for British naturalization, after British citizenship, do i need to inform to home office that my status is changed from ILR to BC and my wife is dependent on old ILR Status? will they change her visa status or she will remain on same visa until her visa get expired?

02) How many days my wife is allowed to be out of the UK if she will apply for ILR after 5 years living in the UK?

03) After my British citizenship, she still needs to spend 5 years in uk to get her ILR?

Please guide

No need to notify HO and your wife can continue on her current visa, and should submit a FLR(M) application before the expiry date for a further 2.5 year period.

02) How many days my wife is allowed to be out of the UK if she will apply for ILR after 5 years living in the UK? There is no absence restriction on absence, providing the relationship is subsisting.

03) After my British citizenship, she still needs to spend 5 years in uk to get her ILR? Yes

@CR001

Thanks you very much for your guidance.

For FLR(M) renewal - whats the best way to manage (proof of address) to show relationship subsisting, is it requirement for FLR(M). do i have to maintain for 2.5 years or last 6 months?

Please guide this!

@CR001 Casa...not CR001

Thanks you very much for your guidance.

For FLR(M) you are required to submit 6 pieces of evidence of address in joint names, from at least 3 different sources spread as evenly as possible covering the full 2.5 year qualifying period.

If you don't have 6 in single names, you should submit 12 (6 each) in single names. A generally guidance is one (or two) examples of correspondence/bills etc every 4-5 months.

Please guide this!
