Restricted CoS for Switching employer in the U.K.?!

Dear all,

I am currently on tier 2 visa and have been offered a job with a new employer. My visa expired on the 14th of October and I made an in-time application for a Tier 2 extension with the new employer. I have just received the COS I have been waiting for from my employer and it turned out they have applied for a restricted COS which I don’t think I can use as an existing Tier 2 Visa holder applying in country!

Will my visa application be refused? It seems that applying for unrestricted COS will take time. Any solution you can think of? Many thanks
