Hi,
My wife had her recent visa 2.5 years ago on the basis of 5 years partner of British citizen route (FLR-M) where she was granted a visa valid until the 2nd of Dec 2017. We are in the process of applying for another 2.5 years to complete the 5 years route.
In the latest application FLR (M) apparently if this is the second application on the 5 years route there is no need to provide a language test certificate, the application says a person is required a language certificate if "making their first application for leave on the 5 year Partner route", so in our case this is not the first application, hence we don't need language approval as the first language certificate we provided 2.5 years ago should be fine.
My only concern is the new list of approved certificates does not include the exact level that my wife had, which is Trinity College London Grade 5, Entry level 3 CEFR Level B1.1 - issue date 31 March 2015. Does that mean we need another language test or as this is another 2.5 years so we don't have to provide any language test documents?
This has been confusing and concerning me especially that I read in the BBC on complains on recent extra strict rules by the home office, so I don't want the application to be refused for such gimmicky reason!
Thanks,
