What do I receive with my FBR papers?

Post by Piret » Thu Oct 19, 2017 2:25 pm

Hi Can someone please help me I am so confused. I registered my fbr and am waiting to receive my papers back. WHAT exactly comes with the papers? IS there an ID card? Because I am wanting to live in another EU country and I need to apply for residency and I do not know what I need. I will be receiving my Fbr in the mail via courier in a couple of weeks but I want to know -do I need an IRISH passport to present or will I receive an ID card with my FBR? I do not understand how this works as I was not an EU member citizen prior to my FBR. Thank you for clarifying.

confused

You'll need an Irish passport if your intention is to live in another EU state. Ireland doesn't have an ID card in the conventional sense- although you can apply for an Irish passport card once you have a book-form Irish passport.

That is not Correct, Ireland does issue a form of ID card called passport card to its citizens, which can be used in lieu of a passport.

Except that the Irish passport card requires that a valid Irish passport in book form is held by the applicant. It is not currently possible to apply for the passport card on its own. https://www.dfa.ie/passportcard/
