Spouse Visa Extension - Premium Service

Post by jtp2017 » Thu Oct 19, 2017 10:06 pm

Good evening,

My wife is American and her spouse visa is due to expire on 12/12/17. Her visa was valid from 12/3/15 and she arrived in the UK on 19/4/15. This means she has been in the UK for exactly 2 years and 6 months as of today. We now need to extend the visa for another 2.5 years.

1. We intend to use the premium service. What date should we book an appointment for? Is it true that we cannot attend a visa appointment more than 28 days before the visa expiry date?

2. How far in advance do we need to book an appointment? Can we book an appointment in 4 weeks time or should we book even further in advance?

3. I have just about completed the FLR (M) application form online. Do I need to complete and submit this form online before I can book the premium appointment? Or can I book the premium appointment before I submit the form?

4. Does the online form actually get 'submitted' electronically? Or does the online form just populate a pdf which I need to print and take to the premium appointment?

Thanks in advance for your help,
John

Online will NOT allow you to book before 28 days... But paper version you can book up to 45 days in advance as long as your appointment is within the final 28 days of your visa. When you book your appointment you must pay for NHS levy, your premium appointment AND your Visa application tho.

You cant even see the appointments unless you go through the booking process...

Yes you do... but it can not be done till 28 days prior to your visa expiry. But by then you might miss out on a appointment at your preferred premium centre. My closest Premium is Croydon... I am having to travel to Solihull to do my appointment.

This I cant answer as after talking to Immigration line the talked me out of doing it online... if anything is wrong you run the risk of being sent away and having to complete the process again. If you take a paper version answers can be amended and changed. Doing paper also means you can book in advance... but just make sure you book for 28 days before Visa expiry.
