UK Standard Visitor Visa on a German National D Visa valid for 6 months

Hi,
I am an Indian National working in Germany.

I was living in UK till 14 Sep 2017. I was on a Tier 2 General visa in the UK.

I have recently moved to Germany on a NATIONAL D VISA valid for 6 months valid till 13 March 2018. I will be applying for a Residence Permit/Blue Card after March with a longer validity.

I need to apply for a UK Tourist visa from Germany.

Is there anyone who can guide if British Consulate will allow to apply using a 6 months valid National D Visa, or is it allowed only after we have a long term Residence Permit.

If anyone has done this before, it would be of great help to share the experience.
