Spouse of EU in Germany without visa or entry stamp

Post by stilleu2 » Tue Oct 24, 2017 9:57 pm

Hi,

I'm a British citizen who's recently moved to Germany with my Thai wife. Due to issue's getting her residence card while still in the UK we choose to drive here from France using the channel tunnel. Our plan was to get a visa/entry stamp at the French border. Our passports were checked and returned to us and we got on the train without issues, however they did not stamp her passport or give an sort of visa.

Next week we plan on getting the residence permit, however I'm concerned there will be issues due to the lack of entry stamp or visa. Will we need to do a round trip to the UK again through France just to get an entry stamp before applying for the eea family member residence permit in Germany?

Thanks

A border crossing of a family member of a eu citizen in France is not the business of the germans.
Simply tell them the french border officer didn't issue a visa. I guess you still own the tickets.

I have the booking confirmation and the boarding card they give at the terminal, but nothing with her name on, just my car license plate number and my name.

The boarding card should be enough.
