UK student visa on while on probation

Hello,
I have been accepted into graduate school in London. However, two years ago I accepted a deffered prosecution for a DUI. That means that instead of pleading guilty or being convicted of the DUI, I opted for 2 years worth of treatment and a total of five years probation.
By the time I will be applying for the visa I will have completed the treatment and will be on unsupervised probation and will not have the DUI on my record. My probation officer has told me that I am allowed to travel and to study in the UK.
I am confused as to the laws regarding probation and visas and would appreciate any advice or knowledge!
