re-entering the UK with tier4 after graduation

Post by RYK » Mon Nov 06, 2017 9:36 pm

Hello people. I was a masters student in economics last year and in december I will have my graduation diploma. I am working in London in a pub with my tier4 visa right now and my visa expires on the 31st of january. I would like to go to my home country for the christmas for 1 week then come back here till the end of january. Unfortunately, it sounds like re-entering the UK with tier 4 visa after graduation sounds a bit risky. As I am working in a pub right now does mentioning about it make the situation worse although I will show my return ticket to the officers? After our graduation ceremony in december do you post our current situations to the home Office? Or have you ever heard such an incidence? What do you suggest me to do?
Thanks :)

It is a lot risky, and there are many existing topics about this.

It would be reasonable for a BFO to refuse an attempted entry on your Tier 4 visa because you have no studies to start or continue. You have not said why you are coming back, but really you need to choose which you want to do:

(a) go home for Christmas and either not come back or come back briefly as a Standard Visitor (with a work prohibition) to pack up and leave again, or

(b) don't go home for Christmas and leave for good after Christmas and finishing your job.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
