supervisory bodies for accountants

Post by mig2015 » Wed Nov 08, 2017 7:53 pm

Hello guys

I'm on Tier 1 E 200 (granted 2015). Company's financial accounts have been prepared by an accountant who is a member of CIMA body, also holds a practise certificate. I have been reading posts which were discussing acceptable accountants, I'm still confused if I have a contract with the right accountant.

I'm also noticing A19 in glossary (guide for applications made on or after April 2017):

A19. Accountants must have a valid licence to practise or practising certificate and must be
members one of the following supervisory bodies: Institute of Chartered Accountants in England
and Wales, the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland, the Institute of Chartered
Accountants in Ireland, the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Association of
Authorised Public Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, the
Institute of Financial Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, the
Association of International Accountants, or the Association of Accounting Technicians.

It's clearly different to the version 2014 which only states:

A19. Evidence submitted from accountants must be members one of the following supervisory bodies: Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland (ICAS), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); and the Association of Authorised Public Accountants (AAPA)

Now tbh I don't know which one will apply, and thought I would ask while I still have a few months until extension. Could anybody please advise?
