Tier 2 PBS dependant IHS questions

Post by soumensarkar » Sat Nov 11, 2017 11:02 pm

Hi Moderator
I am applying to extend my wife's tier2 dependent visa. Last week I have got ILR. My wife is currently holding PBS dependent visa which was granted on 24/12/2015 and going to expire on 29/12/2017. In 'Immigration health Surchrge' section its asking for the visa expiry date of the main applicant i.e. me. As I am holding ILR now, which expiry date should I give? My wife needs PBS dependent extension of 3 years for her to be able to apply for IRL. Should I give my visa expiry date as 29/12/2020 i.e. extension of 3 more years?

Please reply asap.

Regards,
Soumen

Why do you think that you are the 'main applicant'? This is your wife's application and she should choose 'applying alone'.

The IHS surcharge for a 3 year extension will be £600.

However, how did you obtain ILR? Through the 5 year or 10 year long residence route :?:

Hello Moderator,

I have obtained ILR through 5 years route.

In the IHS section, its asking for her partner's (i.e. the person she is dependent on) name, passport, visa details and and also asking for ressident permit valid until? If I chose my visa is valid until 29/12/2020 (keeping in mind 3 years of visa extension of her), IHS amount to be paid as 700 pounds.

If I chose expiry date as 29/12/2017, that date which was mentioned in may last BRP card, the IHS amount comes out to be 100 pounds. So I think I should chose the date as 29/12/2020.

Please advise.

Soumen

She must apply alone and not enter your details.

See link below.

Hello Moderator,

I have checked the post. It seems, the applicant who started the post could book an appointment in person as he was a tier1 dependent and thus he could escape the IHS questions of 'Visa expiry date of the person you are joining in UK'.

Folloiwng is mentioned in the link https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... nt-booking

Your application How to book an appointment
Tier 2 or 4 dependant - applying on your own Book as part of your online application
Tier 1 or 5 dependant - applying on your own Book as part of your online application, or book to apply in person at a premium service centre - you’ll need to take your completed paper form with you

On clicking 'book to apply in person at a premium service centre' -> gives two options for 'PBS Work amd Dependents
Dependant (Tier 1 or 5)
Tier 5 (Temporary Worker)

So there is no option for Tier 2 PBS dependent applyig in person at a premium centre and thus can't escape 'Visa expiry date' question.

Also, while applying, we mentioned the person the applicant is joining in UK has a ILR, still in IHS section it asked about the expiry date.

So we are bit puzzled now.

Please help.

Regards,
Soumen

Tier 2 Dependents can apply in person at premium centre.

Other members have managed to avoid this excessive fee, I believe some also paying the IHS separately on the IHS website.

That aside, any overpayment of IHS will be refunded.

Please remember that we don't have access to the online system and cannot see what you are seeing.
