Citizenship 2017

Post by adam_napster » Tue Nov 14, 2017 10:59 am

Hi all,
Just received a letter from Citizenship office saying "I am directed by the Minister for the Justice and Equality to refer to your application for naturalisation. Please submit your original passport within 14 days of this Letter".
What does this mean any idea?.
Application was lodge June 2015 based on EUFAM
Regards,
Adam

Substantial amount of time has been passed since you have applied they might wana make sure that you have been residing in Ireland all this time and not outside the state for more then 26 weeks at a time.

just an opinion it could be something else

you should consider asking some help your local TD to ask what is going ..

Just to update you. Application was lodged on June 2015 based on EUFAM after completing 5 years. I didn’t applied for EU3 after applying for naturalization, but I did report to my local immigration officer who advise me to apply for EU3 as this is not his department, but if I want I can get the extension based on Irish born child to cover the gap while I am waiting for my application which I did and that was my decision. However he wrote a letter to Citizenship office explaining them that I was not aware of the EU3 application extension hence the delay. After that citizenship office got back to asked me to submit all the permission to remain stamps. Then letter came back on 23/12/2016 since you don’t meet the citizenship requirements this office will process your application based on Irish Born Child. I was also approved for EU3 after 5months and I also send them updated stamps copies. Now they got back to me asking me to submit my original passport. Sorry for confusion.

Mal111, what is the significance of 26 weeks, or 25 weeks and 6 days?

Yeah man! I'm happy for you. Your patience finally got rewarded. I was a bit worried for you, when I heard that you applied in 2015.
