Hi,
I have lived in the uk (from jamaica) since 2000 and have indefinite leave to remain. My mum applied for and has British Citizenship after coming here herself. I have just got to a point where I want to apply for mine. I have been married to an English lady but now divorced and have 3 children. Im in a good job and settled with my new partner of 4 years.
I just got all paperwork in order for applying for my British citizenship but my passport with the indefinite leave to remain has vanished! I can find my original passport with the first documents I was granted for staying in the UK but the second passport which has the indefinite leave to remain has gone missing.
I know my work have a copy of the page with the indefinite leave to remain in and will give me a copy but I really don't know where this leaves me with my citizenship application?
Could anyone advise what is the best way forward for me as I realise without my passport and this document my application would be rejected?
Appreciate any advise and help thank you.
Carter.
