Tier 2 dependent Category 3 year or 5 year.. Please help

Hi

I am a bit confused on what category to chose for applying Tier 2 dependent Visa for my wife. She will be applying alone from India.

My situation :
Current Visa: Tier 2 General (upto 5 year category)
Expires: August 2019

From the rules I have read my wife can only get a visa upto the time of expiry of main applicants visa which is August 2019.

So I am bit confused whether I need to apply her dependent visa under upto 3 year category or upto 5 year category. In any case she will not get visa beyond August 2019 which is less than 3 years and I do not want to pay extra fees for upto 5 year visa.

Can somebody please advise? This is a bit urgent.

I also have a question regarding application form. In the online form there is a section for 'Main Applicant' which is asking for CoS details as well.

Whose details shall I fill in as main applicant? Mine or my wife's?

Please advise. I would be really grateful.
