Working for previous Tier 2 visa sponsor during notice period

I wish to know if it's acceptable to continue to work for your previous tier 2 visa sponsor during the notice period even while you have received a BRP of your new sponsor and the post you are going to take up is set to start at a later date . Would it anyway create any issues for future visa applications or for an indefinite leave to remain and how to potentially avoid it. In case if it did happen unintentionally, how can we remedy the situation ?
