Marrying abroad with a fiancé visa

Post by jgpeace » Sat Nov 18, 2017 8:44 pm

My fiancé and I are looking to get married soon, she is from the US and I’m in the UK. The plan is for us to live in the UK but would like to get married abroad. If she came here on a fiancé visa could we then go away for a couple of weeks and get married somewhere else then come back?

No, as a fiance visa is issued to enable you to marry in the UK within 6 months. If you want to marry outside of the UK you should submit a Spouse Settlement visa from your fiancee's home country.
