Naturalisation application via NCS (BRP requirement)

Post by VSKr » Sun Nov 19, 2017 9:55 am

Hi,

I am making an ILR application using the premium service centre facility on 2 Dec 2017 via the PBS dependent route.
My husband already holds a British citizenship/ passport since April 2015.

Since I am married to a British citizen, I intend to apply for naturalisation immediately after the ILR application is made.
My query is, if my ILR application is successful on 2 Dec (Saturday), can I book an appointment with NCS for my application on 4 December (Monday). Is it necessary to wait for the BRP to arrive with my ILR status before making a naturalisation application?

Section 6 of the AN form talks about biometric enrolment and providing BRP details, but I can always tick the No box next to BRP card stating that I have recently made an ILR application and am awaiting my new BRP.
Also, at the end of ILR application in a premium service centre, do I get a letter from the Home Office stating that my application was successful and that my new BRP card will be couriered shortly? If yes, should the letter be enough to evidence my ILR status before making a naturalisation application.

Please can you advise?

Regards,
V

HO may be able to check their records for your ILR but NCS staff would not accept your application without BRP. You can always give it a try and lose NCS fee but why not book NCS appointment a week or so after your ILR appointment? BRP normally arrives within 2 weeks.

Thanks. I did wait to apply for natuealisation via NCS only after getting my ILR BRP card.

Once you have made the naturalisation application, how does Home Office send the letter requesting biometric details to be submitted- is it via Royal Mail (1st class signed for), 2nd class or via courier (Dx)?

RM 2nd Class. Could take 2 to 4 weeks.
