To give some back story-- I am American and my Partner is British. We met almost three years ago while I was studying in the UK for a semester during my undergrad. We've lived together for 3 months and are getting married next month (civil ceremony either NYC or UK, TBD). My current Tier 4 Student visa expires at end of January 2018.
I am in the daunting process of organizing documents for my FLR(M) application that I will be submitting at an in person premium appointment in January.
I would love some advice on our particular case and checklist to see if it is sufficient. I want to be EXTRA prepped for this appointment as not to throw away £500 for the premium apppointment.
Here is my checklist so far:
ME (APPLICANT):
- FLR(M) application completed by hand
- US passport
- Current BRP
- 2x UK sized photos
PARTNER (SPONSOR):
- UK passport
- 1x UK sized photo
ACCOMODATION:
(Partner's brother owns the flat and lives with us)
- Council tax bill with partner's brother's name
- Certified letter from brother that we live there and can stay living there)
- Floor-plan of flat (3 beds, 2 full baths)
- Applicant bank statement addressed to flat
- Sponsor bank statement addressed to flat
FINANCES:
PARTNER--
- Letter from company HR confirming job title, length of employment, salary, and type of employment, authenticity of pay slips
- 6 month's bank statements
- Signed employment contract
APPLICANT (unsure if necessary to include (but section 7.3A asks about current job)... currently on fixed term contract expiring when my visa expires, they've promised permanent employment upon presentation of new visa)--
- Signed employment contract
- 2 month's bank statements
- 2 month's pay slips
- Letter from HR confirming continued employment, contract type, salary contingent upon presentation of new visa
RELATIONSHIP:
- Wedding certificate
- 15 photos over 3 years together (5 of which are wedding photos from civil ceremony)
- Email confirmations of flights to each other's home countries when we did long distance + family visits
- Letters from parents confirming relationship
- Vacation receipts (AirBnB, flights)
MISC.:
- Appt. confirmation
- Application fee receipt
- IHS confirmation with ref #
- Certificate from university stating completion of Masters that I came to the UK on a Tier 4 to pursue
QUESTIONS:
- Does this list look good??
- What is an Appendix 2 form and do we need one?
- Should I state my income/job? Or just my partner's as his exceeds the minimum financial requirement?
- Include my current full time/past part time job even though they aren't necessary to meet minimum income requirement? Or, do I leave out my employment completely?
- Do we need birth certificates or previous/expired passports?
- Do we need pay slips AND bank statements? Or, will just bank statements do?
- What is the deal exactly with relationship photos-- how many should I bring and what specifically do they want to see?
Thank you!!!
