Child Tier 4 visa

Post by nurse78 » Mon Nov 20, 2017 10:38 pm

Hi, I am from Australia and my son has just got into a theatre school in the UK. He is 12 years old so I am not eligible in getting a parent visa with him. The school is looking at a family for him to board with however they are struggling to find a family for the weekends. Now as an Australian I believe I am allowed to enter the country for 6 months with out visa as long as I don't work or study. Is it possible for him to still get the visa and myself staying there for 6 months and him living with me on weekends? I am assuming I will have to leave the country but he is to Start in January so should be close to summer holidays when the 6 months is up? I am a Registered Nurse and have looked at sitting the exam to see if I can get a sponsor but wouldn't be able to get it in time with all the paperwork that is required.

Intending to stay (or rather to live) in the UK for a full six months, when your child is here for more than six months, could be a difficult one to pitch to a Border Office on arrival under the Standard Visitor provision. I would advise you apply for a visa before travelling.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.
