Help with 2.2 - calculating the absence

Post by marr » Mon Nov 20, 2017 11:33 pm

Hi,

I'm applying got the British passport and I'm stuck with point 2.2 asking to calculate my days absent form the UK. In short, I didn't leave the EU in last 5 years and I only left the UK on holiday for approximately 2 weeks a year. I also traveled around the EU attending few conferences here and there.
In short, I don't have any stamps in my passport as you get none when traveling in the EU and I sometimes used my EU ID for convenance as I always have it in my wallet.

In summary, I'm 100% sure that I don't violate the rules of absence posed by the naturalisation requirements, but I'm not sure if I will be able to accurately define where and for how long I left the UK in last 5 years. As I'm passing the border every time I enter the UK, I would expect for the immigration office to check it on their own? I'm worried that I might miss something and therefore my application will be refused - I'm fairly sure that I'm not the only one lacking a journal logging their travels with exact time/date therefore I can't be only person with this problem?

Can you please advise if I can retrieve the information from the border control to accurately fill the table in section 2.2? If not, what are my options?

Regards,
Martin
