Can we switch from Visitor Visa to Tier 2 General within UK

Hi Friends,

Is it possible to switch to Tier 2 General from Visitor Visa with in UK ?
As far as we know the person has to travel back to india and apply for Tier General Visa.

Please share your inputs .

My understanding is that you need to apply from outside the UK. There are no general provisions to be a sponsored employee while visiting the UK on a visitor's visa.

It's not permitted to switch to any other visa category while in the UK as a visitor.
