Proof of Funds for schengen

Hello everyone,

I have been looking for an answer to this however couldn’t find it out since things are a bit different. I want to apply for schengen again with my boyfriend being my financial sponsor. Earlier when I was a student, my dad was my financial sponsor for schengen by simply showing bank accounts and writing a letter confirming that he will cover the costs. However I think this worked because he is my father maybe? Would this still be okay if my financial sponsor is my boyfriend? Thanks!
