Guys, have a few questions on the requirements and documentation to go from ILR to obtaining a British Citizenship, sorry if I am making someone repeat this from pervious posts...
Basically, I got my ILR end of last Nov 2016, this was based on my Tier 2 General visa after 5 years of being employed with the same company in UK (not with them anymore). I got all the required info, including the continuous employment letter, life in UK (passed the test) and the degree statement from NARIC as I went to University in US...and I got the ILR.
Now, it has been 12 months since I got the ILR, so based on the guidance I got, I should apply for British citizenship. Questions:
1) Do I need to redo my Life in UK test and the language requirements? I saw in their reqs document that I do not have to, but wanted to confirm if I need to include a statement somewhere, or do they keep records that I did this already for the ILR 12 months ago
2) Passport and ILR submissions - I plan to travel after I submit the application, so do not want to give them my foreign passport and the ILR, would copies be OK and how would that work (this is assuming I submit it myself and not through some counsel services, etc.)
3) Evidence of being in UK for 5 years and not go over 470 days, or so....ILR had similar requirement and I had to submit the travel dates for the 5 years. do I need to redo this and add the extra 12 months which needs to be below 90 days? Just not very clear in the guidance.
4) Do I need a reference letter from my old employer and / or the new employer?
5) anything else, besides the fee?
Much Appreciated!
